Kate & Michaels murder mystery wedding at Thrumpton Hall 15/12/2018

It’s not every day you get to capture a murder mystery wedding, so it was an exciting prospect to be part of Kate & Michael’s awesome wedding at Thrumpton Hall back in December.

I’d previousley met Kate & Michael at their friends wedding earlier in the summer and I know how excited they was to have their wedding at Thrumpton Hall. The style and class of the venue in a festive winter setting with log fires and a murder mystery to solve, ensured this wedding was going to be like no other!

Information & advice from the newlyweds

How long have you been together/Any stories about how you met?:

Kate and I started working together 2011 and became good friends. Kate worked away for a period of time but we remained in touch and our friendship blossomed into more. In 2017 I proposed to Kate in her faviorate place.

Any stories or tales from the proposal?

Kate loves Roman history and her favorite film is Gladiator so booking a holiday in Italy and spending a few days in Rome and an evening tour of the Collasium was the perfect opportunity to ask her to marry me.

Reasons for choosing your venue?

Both Kate and I want a slightly different wedding. We wanted the focus to be a family party with a ceromony in the middle. Kate loves murder mystery events and as soon as we walked into Thrumpton Hall it was like walking into an Agatha Christie set. We planned to view several other venues but as we drove home after our little tour around the hall and the bedrooms we decided there was no need to look elsewhere.

Colour scheme/theme/style:

Classical Christmas, storm candles, with a Raspberry colour theme running through which brings together a colour from Kate’s mothers painting which was used and recreated in all the stationary and invites.

Any special thoughts/memories from the day?

Seeing all our family and friends interacting during the day enjoying themselves and making new friendships. To us the murder mystery was the second most important event of the day. With the superb actors kindly drafted in from close family and friends everyone was laughing and kept in suspence until the end.

Any advice for couples planning a wedding?

Have a theme you both want and to make it your day. However, don’t be afraid to seek advice and delegate tasks to family and friends. They want to be involved.
