A stylish Harlaxton Manor wedding with Lianne & Ric
Located in the Vale of Belvoir, this opulent venue is on the outskirts of Grantham in Lincolnshire. This was my first Harlaxton Manor wedding and hopefully not the last! The architecture and design both inside and out is spectacular, with long rooms, big chandeliers and epic ceiling designs!
Lianne & Ric had an unforgettable wedding filled with style and beauty. Their wedding is like something from a magazine!
Congratulations to Mrs & Mrs Whitehead!
Information & advice from the newly-weds
Any stories about the proposal?:
Covid put a bit of a delay in wedding planning but ultimately everything went to plan. Ric proposed on a completely random Saturday in our lounge when I got back from a morning of usual weekend tasks. I had no idea and really didn’t expect it and was completely shocked! I know a lot of brides expect it but I honestly didn’t think it was on his mind. Stunned doesn’t begin to cover it.
Reasons for choosing your venue?
We’ve been to a lot of friend and family weddings and wanted somewhere no one we knew had got married at before. We did a Google search and stumbled upon Harlaxton Manor. If we’re honest, the second we started up the driveway, there was no way we were getting married anywhere else, so a Harlaxton Manor wedding it was!
Theme/Style:
Blue and gold. No particular reason! We wonder if we’d been subconscious influenced by the decor in the venue. We have two cats who are our babies and we adore so used cat breeds for table names and had a cat bride and groom on the cake that were modelled on our boys!
Any special thoughts/memories from the day?
So many! It was great to see everyone there just for us. I loved our first dance. Seeing everyone having such a good time was amazing. No one tells you beforehand but there is no day or occasion like it.
Any advice for couples planning a wedding?
Everyone told us to make sure we took 10 mins away for just us. We did but we did it in a spot where we could see everyone and just look at our party. Make sure you do it. Be present. Leave your phone in your room for the day. Don’t look at the news the day before, on the day or after.
