Nottingham Fashion Photographer – Fashion shoot with Alexander Doddy
With the new studio in its infancy, I’ve been keen to set up a styled shoot and get some low key fashion shots using a model. It would give me the opportunity to give the studio lights a good run whilst getting a feel for the studio. As the space is limited and has its restrictions.
First of all I got in touch with Nottingham actor and model Alexander Doddy. A confident and well presented artist has acted in music videos for several bands including the Kaiser Cheifs and The Libertines. We discussed our plans for the shoot and decided we’d get a few shots with some props If we had time. (I’ve had a WWII gas mask for a few years which I intended to use for a shoot)
One of the main objectives for the shoot was to ensure the photographs had style & consistency. I stuck with using a storm grey background and a single strip softbox for all the photographs. Alexander showed a great amount of confidence in front of the camera and his exuberance enabled me to concentrate on the lighting and camera settings to get the desired results.
Once the fashion shots were in the bag, it was time to have some fun! Out came the gas mask and a few a few of Alexander’s props. A home made scarecrows mask with a trench coat &shotgun made for some pretty sinister shots!
