A Winter Wedding at Hazel Gap Barn | Hollie & Lee

Delighted to share the highlights from Hollie & Lee’s Winter Wedding at Hazel Gap Barn. This was my last wedding of 2019 and it was a epic day to say the least!

An opulent wedding with festive touches. Lots of blacks, whites and silver. Stylish throughout with rustic edges. Great weather and some epic skies. Surprise singing waiters. A day of pure joy, emotion and happy memories.

How long have you been together/Any stories about how you met?:

We’ve been together for 10 years now. We both worked at the Ice rink where Lee also played ice hockey and I was a receptionist there so we saw a lot of each other at that place.

Any stories or tales from the proposal?

Lee proposed in NYC on the last night of our trip at the top of the Rockefeller centre. I since found out he actually had the ring for 4 months before our trip and kept carrying it around with him but couldn’t find the right moment. I think deep down he knew New York would be perfect.

Reasons for choosing your venue?

Hazel Gap barn was the first venue we went to visit, as soon as we pulled into the driveway we fell in love with the venue.

We did visit a few more venues afterwards but every one we looked at we always compared to this stunning venue so we knew it wasbto be a winter wedding at Hazel Gap Barn

Theme/Style:

As it was a winter wedding, we went with the colour theme of black white and silver. The venue was very rustic but all of our touches added to it made the overall theme a rustic/elegant wedding.

We also had slight Christmas feel to some of our decor too with Christmas crackers on all the tables and the giant Christmas tree in the ceremony room.

Any special thoughts/memories from the day?

We had singing waiters during our wedding breakfast which were absolutely amazing. All the guests were surprised and it’s not often you’ll do a giant conga around the room in between courses!

Overall, it was the perfect day for us and we wouldn’t change a thing!

Any advice for couples planning a wedding?

Keep a spreadsheet. Go with your gut. Try not to worry too much and enjoy your day it goes by in the blink of an eye!
