Steve & Leanne’s Summer Wedding at The Carriage Hall

Here’s a collection of photographs from a summer wedding at The Carriage Hall, in Plumbtree Nottingham. What a great time of year for a wedding when you’re guaranteed perfect weather and the likes of outdoor music & food! Here’s the highlights from Steve & Leanne’s Summer Wedding at The Carriage Hall, Plumbtree. It was quite difficult narrowing down some of my favourites photographs for this post as there were so many!

Their day was filled with love, laughter, emotion, family & friends, sunshine, live music, outdoor food and more. They even had their name in lights! (see dance floor shots) An overall fantastic wedding with an awesome couple!

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Derry. Here’s some of my favourites from the day and some info from the couple. There’s also some supplier information at the bottom which details all the people who collectively made their day so special!

How long have you been together/Any stories about how you met?

We’ve been together for 5 years. We met while both working at a lighting company. We worked together for a year and half before we became a couple. Steve was living in Milton Keynes at the time (although Leanne hadn’t actually considered this when she agreed to go out with him) but soon moved to Mansfield to be with Leanne.

Any stories or tales from the proposal?

Steve planned to propose in the gardens at Hardwick Hall. However, as they were about to go in, they were told it was £8 each to go in. At this point, Leanne tried to tell Steve that they wouldn’t bother as it was too expensive just to walk round some gardens… almost scuppered his plans. He had to insist that they went in without giving the game away!

Reasons for choosing your venue:

It was the first venue we looked at and we loved it straight away… we went to see a few more, but nothing came close. We wanted somewhere with a nice mix of traditional and modern and as it is an old building which has been refurbished, it was perfect. It was also very light and spacious as we saw many venues which seemed dark and dingy. We both knew we really wanted a Wedding at the Carriage Hall.

Colour scheme/theme/style:

It was very important for the colours to be light and bright but subtle rather than bold colours. There was no real reason for the colours we chose but decided to go with pastel blue and pastel yellow mixed with white.

Any special thoughts/memories from the day?

The whole day went perfectly. There really isn’t anything we’d change. Venue, food, weather, band. Everything was great.

Steve – The moment I saw Leanne walk into the room for the first time. I don’t think I’ve ever smiled so much in my life… hopefully you got it on camera (Yes, Christian captured it perfectly!)

Leanne – The first dance. It’s amazing to have everyone that you care about at your wedding but this was the first moment of the day where it felt like it was just us in the room.

Any advice for couples planning a wedding?

Once you find something you like, book it, and then stop looking… it’ll only make you question yourself. Take your original budget, then add 20%. I know it’s a cliché, but it goes so fast you wouldn’t believe. Make the most of every second.
