James & Carrie’s Swancar Farm Wedding

Everyone loves a Swancar Farm wedding! From suppliers to guests and of course the couples who chose this lovely venue for their special day. James & Carrie booked their Swancar Farm wedding 2 years in advance as they loved it so much! For me, its always important to capture the love laughter and emotion of the day. But more importantly, I refrain from capturing the same shots time and time again and push myself to create unique photographs for my couples. The weather was great right until we was about to get some bride & groom shots! Fair play to James & Carrie who embraced the wet weather and ventured outside for what turned out to be some pretty epic landscape wedding photographs in the rain!

Information & advice from the newly-weds

How long have you been together: 10 years this month!

Any stories from the proposal: We went to a spa at Hoarcross hall on valentine’s day. We had a lovely relaxing day and the proposal came completely out of the blue. I was moaning at James just before hand as he had made us late for the meal and I had to rush, but after the proposal none of that mattered.

Reasons for choosing your venue:
It was recommended by a friend and her wedding photos looked amazing so we went to view. We fell in love with it straight away!

Colour scheme/theme/style: The colours were corals, creams and gold as they were lovely summer colours and looked gorgeous. Coral has always been my favourite colour and the Miss Piggy rose used in the flowers was perfect. Our table theme was the US office as we love that programme so much and have watched all the series together 4 times.

Any special memories from the day: Our favourite part was the ceremony however the whole day was just perfect. When we got engaged we decided to go all out and make the day as special as we could. We knew it would be the only time that everybody we loved would be in the same room. So just seeing everyone and having our guests there meant so much to us.

Any advice for couples planning a wedding:
We found it useful to choose suppliers that had worked at Swancar before. Especially big suppliers like the flowers, photographer, cake and DJ. It gave us piece of mind that they all knew what they were doing and what to expect at our venue. I’d also recommend make a spreadsheet with all your supplier information/budget/guest information/food/rooms etc. We couldn’t have managed without it!
