Sheryl & Michael’s Wedding at the Nottinghamshire 28/12/2016

Here’s the highlights post from Sheryl & Michael’s winter wedding at the Nottinghamshire golf and country club. This would be the first night wedding I’ve ever shot. Starting after sunset with no ambient light, it was a challenge I was relishing! I photograph a lot of winter weddings so it gives me more and more confidence working with artificial light. I love shooting in the dark and see it as an opportunity to control the light and capture some wow shots.

Below is some information about the lovely couple and some great advice for anyone planning a wedding.

Mr &Mrs Hallam

How long have you been together: We’ve been together 9 years.

Any stories from the proposal: Michael’s never been very romantic so when he suggested we went away for the night I didn’t suspect anything. Our youngest Frankie was only a few months old so I just thought he was giving me a break for the night. We went to the Aviator by TAG hotel for a lovely meal and a few drinks in the sky bar. When we went back to the room, Michael had covered the beds in Haribo rings spelling out marry me. I don’t know who was more shocked about the proposal me or our families who never thought he would actually propose -)

Reasons for choosing your venue: It was pretty much love at first sight. The Nottinghamshire was the only venue we looked at and instantly fell in love with it. Claire the events manager is incredible at her job and made us feel that we could have the wedding we wanted and nothing would be too much trouble. Any questions we had she was always at the end of the phone or only a quick email away.

Colour scheme/theme/style: Our colour scheme was silver and Ivory.

Any special thoughts/memories from the day: The whole day was just incredible from start to finish we loved every minute of it. It was made special by all our wonderful family & friends who joined us, along with all 25 children!

Any advice for couples planning a wedding: Michael says don’t do it!!! My advice would be to make sure you enjoy every moment as the day goes so quick. I loved all the planning and it’s amazing to see it all come together on the day. Makes all the sleepless nights worth it.
