Helen & Nick’s Walled Garden Wedding, Beeston Fields.
Delighted to share with you Helen & Nick’s awesome Walled Garden Wedding. This was my second wedding at this lovely venue (and my first hip hop themed wedding!) Helen & Nick tied the knot at St Patricks church in Nuthall before heading off to the Walled Gardens for more celebrations. The day was filled with love, laughter, garden games, doughnuts, beer pong and a full dance floor!
One of the final shots of the night was an epic bride and groom shot lit with some creative light and a touch of smoke for added atmosphere. It remains one of my favourite bride and groom shots to date! I love training my eyes to see venue’s with a different vision. Scoping out photo opportunities and looking for unique ways to capture a B&G shot that’s not run of the mill or been done 1000 times. This final image epitomises just that.
Information & advice from the newly-weds.
How long have you been together: 12 years.
Any stories or tales from the proposal:
Helen: “Nick shouted me from the hallway the night we got back from Amsterdam [which is where he wanted to propose but the ring didn’t arrive in time] to look at the size of a massive spider. After shouting through the door for 10 minutes, I eventually got up, with a hoody over my face, crept out and Nick was in the hallway on one knee”
Reasons for choosing your venue:
Great outdoor area / Beautiful, casual feel / It fit with our theme and we could basically could do whatever we wanted with the venue. Would highly recommend a Walled Garden Wedding.
Colour scheme/theme/style:
Style was Bohemian / Shabby chic / Greys / Hessian / Lace. Hip Hop theme.
Any special thoughts/memories from the day:
Beer pong – bride squad vs groom squad / A great deal of happiness and love / Dancing.
Any advice for couples planning a wedding:
Nick: Don’t over-exercise / Eat correctly / Chill out more. Helen: Don’t stress over the small stuff, on the day it doesn’t matter.
