Twycross Zoo Wedding | Faye & Nik

When I first met Faye & Nik and discussed their plans for a Twycross Zoo Wedding I couldn’t wait for the day to arrive! No two weddings are the same, but I knew this would be a lot different in many ways and I was eager to see what the zoo had to office photography wise.

Faye’s morning started with bridal preparations in the honeymoon suite at Bosworth Hall Hotel in Market Bosworth. The weather was spot on (and still is 3 weeks later!) with clear blue skies and you couldn’t have asked for a better day! Following a lovely ceremony in ‘windows in the wild’ the newly-weds had reception drinks in Gibbon Forest. It was then time to head over to feed the giraffes which was a special moment for both Faye & Nik.

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Wood. Here’s the highlights from what was an awesome Twycross Zoo Wedding. There’s also some supplier information at the bottom which details all the people who collectively made their day so special!

Information & advice from the newly-weds

How long have you been together/Any stories about how you met?

We’ve been together 9 years & met in local motorbike shop where Nik worked with my cousin. We got talking one week, then a drink the next, a film the week after (where we shared our first kiss) and the rest is history 🙂

Any stories or tales from the proposal:

Nik got me snowboard lessons for my birthday one year and we ended up in Morzine, France on our first Snowboard holiday. Since then we have managed to get onto some snow every year. It seems very appropriate that on the top of the Gondola we were takings some photos and Nik turned to me on one knee and gave me the surprise of my life! After checking he wasn’t joking I said yes!

Reasons for choosing your venue:

We love the zoo and it’s always nice to go and see the animals. Some of our favourites have to be the Bonobos, Gibbons, Giraffe and Elephants.

When we found out they did weddings there was no question. We literally didn’t even look anywhere else! It was booked only months after the proposal and only around a month before we found out I was pregnant!

Colour scheme/theme/style:

Mint green, rose gold and blush pink. Natural / organic styling

Any special thoughts/memories from the day?

Tightly squeezing Niks hand throughout the ceremony! We enjoyed the buggy around the zoo and feeding the Giraffes was incredible.

Isabelle our little girl dancing & seeing just how much fun everyone was having just made the day even more special!

First Dance is for sure something I will not forget, felt like we were the only people in the room and the band were incredible!

Any advice for couples planning a wedding?

Try to do as little as possible in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Give other people more to do, plan, plan, plan, then relax!

Make sure you have nothing planned for the next day! I was exhausted, it’s like you’ve done a triathlon and Christmas day in one!
