Thrumpton Hall Wedding Photography | Lorna & Andy

I first met Lorna and Andy last Autumn to discuss their wedding plans and Thrumpton Hall Wedding Photography. It soon became clear this was going to be an exciting wedding to capture. Thrumpton Hall is a stunning 17th Century Country House set in 300 acres of parkland. It’s situated next to the Trent River. It has stunning gardens and a house that’s bursting with style and grandeur.

Lorna & Andy’s wedding was in the middle of the summer heat wave so the weather was perfect. So perfect in fact a game of cricket soon broke out after the ceremony! Their wedding was also the first ever ceremony to take place in the Lakeside Pavilion. Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Brierley. Here’s some of my favourites from the day and some info from the couple. There’s also some supplier information at the bottom. It details all the people who made their day so special!

Information & Advice from the Newlyweds:

How long have you been together? Any stories about how you met?

We met at school, in 6th form (love blossomed in further Maths classes!), soon to be 12 years together.

Any stories or tales from the proposal:

We were away for the weekend at Champneys Spa Henlow. Andy wanted to propose on Sunday, when we arrived but I was too hungover after a family BBQ at my Mums. The following day we went for a bike ride in the morning. Andy got a puncture, I was surprised he didn’t seem to be annoyed about it at all! Then we went to a local pub and I started having some suspicions when Andy kept pounding double g and t’s at 3.30️. We had brought our favourite fizz (Nyetimber) with us. Andy took us for a walk in the grounds of the hotel to a flower clad bandstand where we sat and he got down on one knee! He had chosen the ring himself with no help and not only was it exactly what I wanted but the perfect size too (meant to be).

Reasons for choosing your venue:

A beautiful home with an interesting history.

Colour scheme/theme/style:

Blue (to match the ring sapphire) and pink.

Any special thoughts/memories from the day:

There’s too many to choose from! The whole day ran perfectly and we were so happy with everyone and everything who was a part of it.

Any advice for couples planning a wedding:

Don’t sweat the small stuff. You will have an amazing day no matter what so just get the big important things in place early so you’re not stressed.
