Spring Wedding at Kelham House | Melissa & Luke

Melissa & Luke held their Spring wedding at Kelham House on what was a lovely sunny day filled with love & laughter.

On the outskirts on Newark, Kelham house is an elegant Edwardian venue dating back to 1903. With stunning bridal suites, great staff and awesome food.

With the weather playing ball we had a great sunset and timed it to perfection to get a few shots of the newly-weds during the golden hour. Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Rogers!

Information & advice from the newly-weds

How long have you been together/Any stories about how you met?:

We’ve been together for nearly 5 years. We first met when Luke interviewed me for a job, little did we know years later we would end up getting together and eventually getting married.

Any stories or tales from the proposal?

I was having a bad week at work and Luke surprised me with a weekend away in York to cheer me up. When the weekend rolled around, the posh hotel hadn’t set any alarm bells ringing but Luke getting drunk at dinner did. We were in front of the Minster when Luke got down on one knee and I quickly told him to get up, followed by a yes!

Reasons for choosing your venue?

The venue itself has some family memories and funny stories for us and just fits to our style.

Colour scheme/theme/style:

Simple and elegant according to Jenny our florist. We incorporated rustic materials and hessian to the styling.

Any special thoughts/memories from the day?

Melissa’s first words after walking down the aisle ‘I’m starving’.

Any advice for couples planning a wedding?

Keep it simple. Research your suppliers and trust them, they know what they’re doing.
