Portrait Photography Derby with the Alexander Family 11/10/2014
This was my first ‘Christmas Mini Session’ with The Alexander family. I arrived at their lovely family home in Derby on Sunday morning and set up the mobile studio in the kitchen whilst getting the know the little ones, (getting them on your side and gaining trust is imperative if you are to spent the next 2 hours with a camera pointing at them!) After a good chat and a bag of Haribo’s later they was full of smiles and ready for some fun.
The first image was inspired by a photographer from the US who had photographed the family individually and merged them together. Keen to try it out for myself I took one head shot of each person using careful light placement for light & shadow and merged them together in photoshop.
Kids don’t stay young for long, so the Alexander family were keen to capture some family photos for the wall at home. Its nice when you can get a variety of images with some individuals as well as some group shots.
Thanks for viewing this Portrait Photography Derby post. If you are thinking of updating your family photos here’s some information on the portrait services I offer throughout the East Midlands.
Review from the Alexander family
Matt came to our house on Saturday morning to do our family photo shoot. The kids warmed to him straight away (even more so when they discovered he’d brought them some Haribo’s!) Matt had lots of ideas and did a brilliant job of getting the kids to participate. Today I received a phone call from Matt (only 5 days after shoot) and our photos are ready to view online and our disc is on its way!! Wow wow wow…love the photos Matt, you’ve done a fantastic job. Just what we wanted. Thank you so much. Highly recommend and will definitely use Matt again. Xx
