Outdoor-Wedding-at-The-Walled-Gardens

I’m pleased to share the highlights from James & Claire’s outdoor wedding at The Walled Gardens, Beeson Fields on Thursday 31st may 2018. The day started with bridal preparations at the venue before a lovely outdoor ceremony alongside their family & friends. With James being a Gardener this was the perfect venue, with plenty of colours and flowers in bloom. The images I captured throughout the day reflect this with warm vibrant tones and lots of colour!

Information & advice from the newly-weds.

How long have you been together/Any stories about how you met? We met at The Dermatology Daycare Unit when I worked there as a Nurse. James was a patient and we had our first date as he was coming to the end of his treatment in 2012. It was the day of the Olympics and we met for drinks at Pitcher and Piano. We first became official as a couple on 28th July 2012 so we’re coming up to 6 years together!

Any stories or tales from the proposal? James proposed on Christmas Day 2015. I was very shocked! Everyone knew but me, we all sat for Christmas dinner and my Mum piled his plate up as she normally does knowing that he was so nervous and couldn’t stomach it! We have a tradition in my family named the snow house with little gifts in that me and my mum normally put together.

James was sat opposite me and it was fixed so he picked out the last gift which was for me! It was a pandora box and I looked at Mum and said Mum you shouldn’t have!! James said ‘just read the tag!’ I turned it over and it read will you marry me?!’ I was aghast. There are lots of photos of me in shock he also then got down on one knee. I said yes in surprise of course. It was the perfect proposal; intimate and on my favourite day because I love giving.

Reasons for choosing your venue? The Walled garden was the third venue we looked at. We fell in love with it because we wanted to be in open space as James is a landscape gardener. It was a perfect way to share our special day surrounded by nature. An outdoor wedding at The Walled Gardens it was!

Colour scheme/theme/style: Cornflower blue and metallics with lots of greenery around the venue. Style was classic and elegant with a garden twist.

Any special thoughts/memories from the day? We both said the ceremony of our marriage was the part we remember most about the day and were so happy with the readings and word we said so clearly to one another. Having everyone surround us with love and laughter was amazing and I only wish we could have made the day last longer!!

Any advice for couples planning a wedding? Keep calm, be organised, take time out!!! Go on a date sometime before and don’t talk about wedding stuff!
