An Epic Derbyshire Countryside Wedding with Dean & Lianne

Where do I begin… This was one of my favourite weddings of 2018! An awesome couple and such a good wedding. I first met Dean & Lianne last year when they popped down to the studio to discuss their wedding. They explained how they planned to get married at Christ Church in Holloway. They wanted it to be followed by the reception at Deans Work Place. This is at Lea Green Outdoor Activities Centre in Matlock, Derbyshire.

Some of my favourite things about the wedding are; The tractor to take the couple from the church to the venue! The location and setting. The attention to detail throughout. This is including personalised handwritten notes to every guest on the table. A kayak full of booze. Lianne’s wedding shoes. A handful of guests who each had to dress up and serve guests drinks! The speeches (1 hour long!) And finally the weather. We had great weather including sunshine, overcast light (for the groups shot)! We even had some rainfall in the evening (check the last shot of the night). You can’t ask for more!

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs. Mills. Here are some of my favourites from their awesome Derbyshire countryside wedding and some info from the couple. There’s also some supplier information at the bottom. This details all the people who made their day so special!

Information & Advice from the Newly-weds:

How long have you been together/Any stories about how you met?

Been together 12 years! Met in the best nightclub in Ripley TONKERS with a sticky dance floor.

Any stories or tales from the proposal?

It was on a canal boat. We were supposed to go through idyllic places in Chester but ended up going through industrial places! The reason why we did this was that it was something a bit different. We didn’t realise Lianne got sea sick but she’s got better with age. 🙂 #honeymoonatsea

Reasons for choosing your venue?

It meant so much to us both as we have both spent a great deal of our lives here and the staff at Lea Green are like our family.  Lea Green is also such a unique venue that no one we know has used before.  The surrounding area is beautiful and we loved the idea of a laid back, countryside wedding.  The staff at Lea Green are also amazing! We knew they would be so lovely to work with and help make our day extra special.

Any special thoughts/memories from the day?

The tractor! Felt a bit like Santa when he comes around the streets at Christmas waving to everyone.

Any advice for couples planning a wedding?

Try and be a little more organised than what we were! Enjoy it and have fun.  Drink gin whilst making creative things! Our guests really enjoyed the things we made that personalised our wedding and made it very me and Dean.
