A Carriage Hall Wedding with Stuart & Emma

I’m pleased to be able to share with you the lovely wedding of Stuart & Emma. This would be my second Carriage Hall wedding and one I was really looking forward to. I met with Stuart & Emma a few weeks prior to the big day for their engagement shoot. This not only gave us the chance to get to know each other a little more, but also it helped Stuart & Emma to see how I work and what to expect on the day. I must say, Stuart & Emma were a fantastic couple to work with. The we’re relaxed, comfortable and had complete faith in the experimental stuff I tried on the day.

The day was packed with emotion, laughter, fun &great weather. After the wedding ceremony it was great to be able to head out with the newlyweds in the wedding car. We took this opportunity to capture some beautiful bride &groom shots in a nearby area of the countryside. Below is some information from the happy couple.

Information & advice from the newly-weds!

How long have you been together: We’ve been together for 5 years.

Any stories or tales from the proposal: Stuart set Emma a treasure hunt with clues to all the places they went on their first date. The treasure hunt finished at the ice arena in Nottingham where Stuart proposed to Emma on the ice (he’d been secretly taking ice skating lessons for months before so that he could get down on one knee and escort Emma around the rink) Emma nearly spoiled the long planned surprise by spraining her ankle a few weeks before the proposal, but braved the ice anyway.

Reasons for choosing your venue: We loved its openness, the wood floors, the exposed brickwork, the high windows, it really looked the part. We could see that it would be a great venue on a fine summer day, which thankfully we had. It also had a reputation for very good food (well deserved) and we loved the fact that it was a local family owned business. So a Carriage Hall wedding it was.

Colour scheme/theme/style: Loosely themed around travel to reflect the history of the converted railway building.

Any special thoughts/memories from the day: Too many to list! But we couldn’t have imagined a better day.

Any advice for couples planning a wedding: Get the big things out of the way first and try not to sweat the small details too much close to the day.
